Contest/Privacy Policies

Contest Policy

We have many giveaways but here is a standard contest policy that will provide regulations for all our contests hosted by Teens Read and Write as well as Alyssa's Write.
  • All contests are open to those 13 years of age or older.
  • To expedite sending out prizes, addresses will be required in the contest form.
  • Contest winners may or may not be announced on the site but winners will be notified by email.
  • We are not responsible for items lost in the mail.
  • We hold the right to end a contest before its original deadline without any prior notice.
  • We hold the right to disqualify any entry as we see fit.
We Highly Recommend that you be sure to:
  • Check contest deadlines!
  • Check who the contest is open to.
  • Follow all contest instructions.

Privacy Policy
Here at Teens Read and Write we take your privacy very seriously, especially for our younger readers. The internet is a great tool but everyone should be wary, use common sense and be responsible about sharing your personal information.

Information Collected at Teens Read and Write and Use
At TEENS READ AND WRITE we do not usually collect personal information, but we can't stop others from taking email or other identifying information from the comments section of this blog. You can use Blogger or Google ID to create an online “persona” which does not have to state your actual name in any way.

While we are a young adult book review site we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13.

Our parents have always drilled into us to never give out personal information - names, addresses, phone numbers, etc - on the internet without their permission and we urge other kids to heed this advice. If you are a parent and are worried that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at demonicattractions(at)gmail(dot)com.

In our contest entry forms we'll request a physical address to which we send the prize. If you are under 13, your parent will have to confirm and provide the address. As we have no way to confirm your age, we are expecting everyone to be honest. No one's address will be shared or distributed in any way, not rented or sold, nor is it kept on file.

If a contest winner is announced on the blog, none of your personal information will be posted in the contest announcement beyond your screen name or your first name and last initial. If you have any discrepancies with this arrangement you can let us know in the contest entry form.

The contest entry form is used to further aid in privacy protection so you won't be required to put your email address in the comments section. Any comments containing personal identification, such as an email address, may be deleted.

We recommend that you do not submit or post any personally identifiable information when posting to the TEENS READ AND WRITE blog/website. Only use your first name or screen name.

Thanks to Kristi @ The Story Siren for providing lots of information and help to other bloggers as well as some great information pertaining to children's online protection:
