Sixteen-year-old Angie Favorite's life so far has been defined by the disappearance of her mother on her eleventh birthday. Since then, she and her older brother Jason have been raised by their grandmother, while their father tours with his rock band. When Angie is attacked by a complete stranger, the crime seems random, until she meets her attacker's wealthy mother, Lillian Bittner, and discovers nefarious connections between the Bittners and the mother no one has heard from in five years.
Up for an exciting murder mystery? Me too!
FAVORITE runs at a fast clip. In the very first pages Angie gets beaten to crap in a would-be abduction then quickly gets sucked into some bizarre circumstances with the kidnapper's wealthy family. She stumbles across clues about her mother's unexplained disappearance and is soon neck deep in danger.
Romance stays light. She has a brief date with Mike, who's the nephew of the guy who tried to kidnap her which makes things rather awkward. I liked that she and Mike have an intelligent conversation about the situation and Angie's blunt nature carries through. She goes for honest rather than trying to impress people, even the cute guy.

flows well, and keeps turning in unpredictable directions. The ending surprised me - talk about wacky folk - and the story finishes on a satisfying note.

Thanks for the giveaway and I must have missed your post on the interview - I love her Zombie response.
I haven't read a new YA mystery in what seems like ages, and Favorite sounds really good from your description of it. :)

I think with a quick read like this one, I'd enjoy a lighter romance.
Thanks for another great giveaway!
Sounds like a quick but exciting read. I feel like I've been reading some long novels lately so it'll be nice to read something short.
Oh I love surprise endings:) Though I'm a sucker for a good romance, sometimes it's fun to read a story that doesn't focus on that element to the exclusion of all else.
Oh, a thriller! I do need to read this one. Plus, I do enjoy surprises in a thriller. Oh thanks for the giveaway!
Ooooh looks good!
Mysteries, count me in.
Great review! I've seen this around, but kind of ignored it because it just didn't look like something I'd like. Now that I've read about it, I want to read it. It sounds really interesting! That should teach me not to judge a book by its cover.
Thanks for the giveaway! ^_^
Aw, great contest. Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I'm glad it had a satisfying ending, looks like a fast, fun read...though I'm loath to add another book to my list, I'll take a peek into this one. I have so many books now, I'm donating them to the library BEFORE I even read them...to make room for more. Maybe I can find this one as an ebook?
