Movie Review: THE GREEN HORNET

The Green Hornet
Seth Rogen, Jay Chou
Released: 1/14/10
PG-13
Playboy Britt Reid becomes the new publisher of Los Angeles' "The Daily Sentinel" after the sudden death of his father. Britt's party life is about to change when he and his driver and kung fu expert, Kato, stop a robbery. With the help of Kato, Britt starts a new career of fighting crime as the masked superhero "The Green Hornet".
Whenever I see the words "Seth Rogan" and "Martial Arts-Action-Comedy" in the same sentence my skeptical meter implodes! But I remained excited non-the-less, and wasn't disappointed.

The Green Hornet follows Britt Reid, playboy heir to a booming newspaper, and Kato, Britt's father's personal mechanic and coffee maker. Shortly after the death of his father, Britt and Kato team up to clear the city of corruption with the help of awesome gadgets and a sweet ride.

Lethal AND adorable!
I really enjoyed The Green Hornet. While Seth Rogen is not my favorite actor he does what he does best, play an incompetent goof ball. The show is of course stolen by Kato and his amazing kung fu skills. There were some fantastic sequences where he completely schools an entire group of thugs while effortlessly flipping, kicking, and punching through the air.

There was one particular aspect of the film that I don't think got enough publicity and that is Academy Award Winner (for his amazing performance in Inglourious Basterds) Christoph Waltz. He did a great job here too.

All in all it's a fun action flick with lots of laughs!

That's a BINGO!
I love this Japanese movie poster!

Hi Jake!

Just made my way to the theater to see Green Hornet, I found it witty, crazy, wild fun! Seth Rogan (who I loved as BOB in Monster vs Aliens, but not so much in anything else) did his job expertly, he was more of a sick-kick than Kato, and it worked perfectly. PS ~ LOVE the Japanese poster, haven't see it before!

I'll have my review up soon!

Dottie :)
