My Nook is one of the best new toy I purchased this year, kind of wished I'd waited until the color edition was available, lol, it came out about two months after I got mine. I compared it to the Kindle and the Kobo, but with the Kindle you're limited to Amazon. The Kobo was nice, but Nook was sturdier feeling in my hands (it slightly weighs more too). I loved that it has changeable backs, lots of accessories, and covers (I purchased one with a backlight, of course, with the color Nook, it's already back lite I believe). The color Nook is supposed to be harder on the eyes (doesn't use e-ink, not as good in the daylight), but it's cheaper than the iPad, which I'd love to have as well, lol!
