Cover and Title of Hunger Games #3!

Here's the latest Hunger Games trilogy scoop.

Today Scholastic revealed the title and cover of the last book in the series set in a dictatorship where teens are forced to fight to the death on TV.

The title is Mockingjay, and it's out Aug. 24.

In the book, mockingjays are offspring of mockingbirds and jabberjays, a government-bred mutant designed to spy on rebels. Mockingjays become symbols of resistance.

Currently, Collins is finishing her screenplay of The Hunger Games set for a 2011 release.

While I love these books, I've never been a fan of the covers. Can't say I'm impressed with the latest one either.

But the content... Awesome!

Nice! The cover and title is FINALLY revealed! I'm not sure I love this cover though, it's okay, but nothing more. It's also a bit different from the previous covers.

I much prefer the Aussie covers. Especially for The Hunger Games. Its nice to finally have a name so that everyone can stop calling it the third Hunger Games book. :)

I love the blue color on that cover. They may not be the best covers but they have a good theme . Each book had an appropriate cover and with this cover we can guess what might happen :)

The content is no doubt AWESOME!

I sure do not like the covers, but yes the content, awesome!
This last one, so sweet looking..perhaps it meant to be hopeful, but I don't wanna know everything is gonna be ok before even reading it

Are you kidding? I love the covers! They are a fresh departure from the "movie tie-in" type book covers, which is what I always think when they show the character's face--I hate that! I want to be able to imagine them a bit. Take for example the cover of Some Girls Are... it's showing a bit of her hair and not much more than her chin, so while it gives me something to go on, I can still picture her the way I want. For the Hunger Games it doesn't even give you that--so my imagination just goes wild!

Thanks for sharing the cover! :D

Don't judge a book by its cover!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's not liking the cover.

I think the cover is ok.Its not the best but neither are the first two.

I really like this cover - I'm hoping the light blue means things aren't so intense this time around. But then, I'm a pansy when it comes to violence. :)

I haven't read any of the books yet, though I have always ment to. I actually like the cover of the new one.

finally they released it! I'm not the biggest fan of the cover arts either.

I kind of like the covers, though honestly The Hunger Games cover was too warish looking to me at first, and was one of the things that made me hesitant to read it, but now I like it.

It is way too different from the previous books IMO. I hope the bindings somehow go together.

I'm one of those people who doesn't really pay a lot of attention to the covers, although I certainly admire the artwork and creativity and talent that do go into them. I loved book 1 and can't wait to read book 2 and 3 of this series.

I like the previous covers and titles, but I have to say that I don't really like either on this new one. I just don't think Mockingjay fits well as a title in this series. The other two are great, but this one...no. I don't particularly like the cover either. I understand why it would be titled this way and why the cover would look the way it does, but I just don't like it.

I actually really like it, but that might be because I'm partial to that shade of blue ;)

I don't like the covers so much (but the third one is the best, I think). I read the second book in January and both the first and the second are on the list of my favorite books. Exited for the third!

I don't the like the cover. At all. But I'm really excited to read it!
I've never liked the covers for this series, either. I actually didn't read HG for a while becuase the cover wasn't that great. It just didn't catch my eye or make me want to take a look at it. I didn't read it until a friend told me it was amazing. Glad I listened.

Oh, and: Screenplay!?!?! *squeeeal!*

I was sooooo excited when they released the title and cover for the 3rd book! This is one of my favourite series and I absolutely cannot wait until August! I kind of like the covers and what they symbolise. Plus they look nice on the shelf toegether!

I know what you mean about the covers and I guess I always looked at them as being kind of bleak like parts of the stories...

Yeah, they aren't pretty like some, but for me they were/are fitting.

Mockingjay is pretty, but that one to me doesn't match the others. *shrugs* I can't wait for it either way - Ohhh Aug is just way to far away for me!

I wonder who Katniss will choose, Gale or Peeta. Can't wait to find out :D
