Changes
by Jim Butcher
Pub: April 6

Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden's lover-until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Susan then disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it.

Now Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court, has discovered a secret Susan has long kept, and she plans to use it-against Harry. To prevail this time, he may have no choice but to embrace the raging fury of his own untapped dark power. Because Harry's not fighting to save the world...

He's fighting to save his child.

Shadow Mirror
by Richie Tankersley Cusick
Pub: Mar 18

Unsettling. There’s no better word to describe Miranda Barnes’s ability to hear the cries of the dead, feel the wind move her hair when they run by, and—dare she look into a mirror—see the reflection of a ghostly woman behind her. There’s only one person to turn to for support: Etienne. As sexy as he is mysterious, Miranda can’t help but be drawn to him. He believes her; he wants to help her. But there’s a secret in Etienne’s past, something Miranda’s on the verge of discovering. As paranormal activity escalates, passion grows, and soon Miranda is caught up in both love . . . and tragedy.

Shadow Hills
by Anastasia Hopcus
Pub: July 13

Since her sister’s mysterious death, Persephone “Phe” Archer has been plagued by a series of disturbing dreams. Determined to find out what happened to her sister, Phe enrolls at Devenish Prep in Shadow Hills, Massachusetts—the subject of her sister’s final diary entry.

After stepping on campus, Phe immediately realizes that there’s something different about this place—an unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s, an ancient and creepy cemetery, and gorgeous boy Zach—and somehow she’s connected to it all.

But the more questions she asks and the deeper she digs, the more entangled Phe becomes in the haunting past of Shadow Hills. Finding what links her to this town…might cost her her life.

Voices of Dragons
by Carrie Vaughn
pub: Mar 16

On one side of the border lies the modern world: the internet, homecoming dances, cell phones. On the other side dwell the ancient monsters who spark humanity’s deepest fears: dragons.

Seventeen-year-old Kay Wyatt knows she’s breaking the law by rock climbing near the border, but she’d rather have an adventure than follow the rules. When the dragon Artegal unexpectedly saves her life, a secret friendship grows between them—even though the fragile truce that has maintained peace between their two species is unraveling around them.

As tensions mount and battles begin, Kay and Artegal are caught in the middle. Can their friendship change the course of a war?
In her young adult debut, New York Times bestselling author Carrie Vaughn presents a modern tale of myths and machines and an alliance that crosses a seemingly unbridgeable divide.

Some great books and gorgeous covers to look forward to (okay, Changes cover isn't great but love the content and Harry's got a daughter!)

I'll definitely be looking forward to Shadow Mirror! The fact that it has a mysterious-yummy-guy as one of the characters thoroughly drew me in ;)

Shadow Hill for sure. I'm also waiting on This World We Live In.

Zombie Girrrl said...

I'm looking forward to Shadow Hills too. "An unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s," has especially piqued my interest. I love mysterious diseases! Any mention of diseases in books makes me happy. Like my favorite part of Twilight, the driving force that kept me reading till really, really lame ending was how Edward nearly died; Spanish influenza in 1918. I literally jumped up and down when I read that! I was like, "Oh, cool! She used the 1918 flu pandemic!"

Ladytink_534 said...

I've read short stories set in the Dresden Files world and I really, really liked them but I haven't had a chance to read the books.

I've never heard of any of these books, but since I have now, I can't wait for them! I would most likely buy Shadow Mirror, Shadow Hills, and Voices of Dragons. Changes doesn't really... affect me much. Or something. I can't find the right word.
